Bill Murray sounds quite enthusiastic about a female Ghostbusters team. And he's made a few casting suggestions...
Believe the rumour mill, and the current plan for the next Ghostbustersfilm is to bring in a female lead cast, and for Paul Feig to direct the movie. And chatting to Toronto Star, Bill Murray - who has resisted Ghostbusters 3 - seems quite keen on the idea.
"I'm fine with it. I would go to that movie, and they'd probably have better outfits too."
So who would he pick for a female Ghostbusting team? His co-star in the upcoming movie St Vincent, Melissa McCarthy, for one. "Melissa would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny". More? "I like this girl Linda Cardinelli a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there."
It does sound as though Murray has come up with a Paul Feig-centric castlist there, given that Feig directed two of the above in Bridesmaids, and gave Cardinelli her breakthrough in the immortal Freaks & Geeks. Maybe he knows something we don't?
For now it's just speculation of course, and as for Murray, the chances of him returning to Ghostbustersremain very slim indeed.
