Richard Kiel

Richard Kiel, known for roles in James Bond movies, the Twilight Zone, and more, has died.

We are very sorry to report that Richard Kiel, the distinctive seven foot tall strongman, known for a slew of sci-fi, horror, and adventure roles, has died at the age of 74.

Kiel's career highlights read like highlights from our Blu-ray and DVD collections. His considerable television career includes work in episodes of Kolchak: The Night Stalker, I Spy, The Greatest American Hero, Superboy, The Monkees, and a memorable role in classic Twilight Zoneepisode "To Serve Man."

Mr. Kiel was even the original choice for the role of The Incredible Hulk on the successful television show, even filming several scenes in the pilot episode, before the producers chose to go with the more traditionally muscular Lou Ferrigno.

Of course, he may very well be best remembered for his role as Jaws in James Bond films The Spy Who Loved Meand Moonraker. MST3Kfans have certainly enjoyed him as the title character in Eegah, as well.

Rest in peace, Mr. Kiehl. Thanks for being one of our favorite big bad guys.
