Mark Ruffalo admits he's written to Rian Johnson, after a role in his Star Wars film...
Mark Ruffalo's been reprising his work as Bruce Banner/Hulk this year, with filming taking place mainly in the UK for 2015's Avengers: Age Of Ultron. But it sounds as if it's not the only big movie he's got his eye on. In conversation with Collider, Ruffalo revealed that he's been in contact with his The Brothers Bloomdirector, Rian Johnson, about a possible role in Star Wars: Episode VIII.
Johnson is directing the film, and Ruffalo was promoting his latest movie, Infinitely Polar Bear. Speaking to Collider, Johnson admitted that he "desperately" wanted to be in a Star Warsmovie. And that he'd written to Rian Johnson. "My e-mail to Rian after all these years was 'Rian, congratulations on everything you’ve been doing. And by the way, if there’s a part in Star Wars, please, anything, please consider considering me to join you.'"
So: a background thing where you turn up for a day? "I love hanging out with Rian, so that's interesting to me, but I would like a role." Don't blame him.
