Check out the first U.S. trailer for the goose-stepping Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead right now.
It is so rare to see something original done with the zombie genre in the days of post-Romero and post-Romero remakes. But when Tommy Wirkola’s demented Dead Snow hit the festival circuit in 2009, the rather brilliant idea of Nazi zombies hoarding gold made it an instant cult classic. Is it any surprise there are plenty more goose-steppers from where that came from?
In the below trailer for Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead, U.S. audiences get their first glimpse of the plot and tone for the second wave of walkers from the Rhineland—except this time they have more on their minds than just Nazi gold.
Featuring the unlikely return of Vegar Hoel as Martin, our hero from the original film has survived and in true Sam Raimi fashion, he is ready to lend a helping hand in killing zombies. The sequel also features U.S. friendly American monster hunters that call themselves “the Zombie Squad” (they’re really just three geeks played by Martin Starr, Jocelyn DeBoer, and Ingrid Haas) ready to shout “USA” at the drop of a hat.
But most of all, Martin is learning that if you want to fight the dead, you better be ready to run red…like the motherland.
Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead crawls into theaters on October 10, 2014.
