The Eleventh Doctor might be turning zombie killed in the upcoming Jane Austen parody, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
Matt Smith has joined the cast of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the upcoming film adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith, in which Jane Austen's classic meets a gruesome fate. This parody of Austen's famous novel made waves back in 2009 for remixing her beautifully crafted narrative with a zombie apocalypse on the English countryside.
This is bound to be a fun one, and from what we've seen of Smith on Doctor Who, he can always deliver a funny line in the midst of a dangerous situation. It'll be hard to not to image Smith, all nobleman-like, as the Eleventh Doctor after the character went all Victorian during the last bit of his run. One thing is for sure: new Matt Smith is the best Matt Smith.
Smith just finished filming Terminator: Genisys, a reboot of that franchise, and will be joined for PPZ by Lily James, Sam Riley, Jack Huston, Bella Heathcote and Douglas Booth.
He will play Mr. Collins, a parson who is searching for a wife and proposes to Liz Bennett, the heroine of the story who prefers killing zombies in the countryside than marrying into wealth.
Burr Steers is directing. The film begins shooting on Sept. 24, and the Eleventh Doctor just couldn't help himself.
