Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston is in talks to star alongside Matt Damon in the upcoming epic, The Great Wall.
Legendary Pictures seems adamant on living up to its namesake if the cast it’s trying to cobble together for The Great Wall comes to pass.
Already having circled Matt Damon to star in the new film from director Zhang Yimou—who previously directed Christian Bale in the underrated Chinese epic, The Flowers of War—Legendary is now in talks with Bryan Cranston to also star in the picture.
Cranston, who worked with the production company when it was over at Warner Bros. producing Godzilla, certainly would be able to squeeze it into his schedule now that he has wrapped his run on Broadway with All the Way and is currently filming Trumbo.
Produced by Thomas Tull, Charles Roven, Jon Jashni, Richard Suckle, and Peter Loehr, The Great Wall is working from a script by Tony Gilroy (The Bourne Trilogy, State of Play) and follows a group of westerners who unearth the true hidden reason for the Great Wall’s construction, buried deep within the stones.
