There could be a bunch of new mutants coming to X-Men: Apocalypse, including the big-gunned Cable.
If the X-Men are going to face off against an era-defining bad guy like Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse, then they should probably have some of the other characters who defined that particular era along for the ride. Few fit the bill quite as well as the white-haired, cybernetic-armed, giant gunned, Cable.
On the subject of including Cable, X-Men: Apocalypse writer and producer Simon Kinberg said that there had been discussions about including him in X-Men: Days of Future Past, but it wasn't to be. He did say, however, that "we love the character, we’d love to find a place for him in these movies," before cautioning that he would not "confirm or deny" any new mutants just yet.
It does sound like there's some talk about including Scarlet Witch, and he also describes Psylocke as a possibility. "She has a cool power," he says, "I know Bryan thinks she’s a neat character so there’s certainly a chance she’ll be in an X-Men movie some day." Yes, especially since she was supposed to show up in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
