The long-lost plan for Zombieland 2 has been rediscovered - and director Ruben Fleischer is back on board...
Well, this has come out of the blue. For a long time, the planned sequel to Zombielandwas missing, presumed dead. An Amazon TV pilot never took off, and there have been no murmurings about Zombieland 2 for a long time now.
However, it's suddenly a live project again.
Deadlinehas reported that Sony is re-recruiting helmer Ruben Fleischer, who helmed the original Zombieland, to direct. As for screenwriters, there appears to be no sign of original scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, with The Expendables' Dave Callaham hired to write the screenplay instead.
The original had a cast that featured Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin. It's inevitably unclear thus far which of them are going to come back for Zombieland 2.
More news on the project as we hear it.
