The Angry Birds game becomes a movie and gets a hell of a cast.
The Angry Birds movie is really happening and Sony Pictures announced today that Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Jason Sudeikis (We’re the Millers) and Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids) top the list of actors coming on board the project. Dinklage will play Mighty Eagle, Sudeikis will star as Red and Rudolph will voice Matilda.
Also joining a mightily impressive cast are Josh Gad (Frozen), Danny McBride (This is the End), Bill Hader (The Skeleton Twins), Tony Hale (Veep) and Keegan-Michael Key of Key & Peele fame. The plot? No idea, but we suspect it will have something to do with birds and pigs.
Directed by Feral Reilly and Clay Kaytis, Angry Birds will open on July 1, 2016. Hopefully the game will still be in vogue by then.
