The long-mooted Baywatch movie is happening - and Dwayne Johnson is taking the lead role...
After a prolonged spell in development hell, it's suddenly full steam ahead on the planned movie of Baywatch. Behind the camera, the screenplay is set to be rewritten by Justin Malen, whilst Sean Anders and John Morris are set to direct the movie. The pair previously penned We're The Millers, and Anders has directed the likes ofHorrible Bosses 2, That's My Boy, and Sex Drive previously.
They've landed quite a coup with their casting already too, as it's been confirmed that Dwayne Johnson is set to headline the new movie.
It's unclear at this stage whether Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff will make their originally planned cameos. But as for Johnson? He's been happy to confirm the project, as the following post to his Instagram page might just prove...
There's no release date for Baywatchyet, but we'd imagine the plan is to move forward sooner rather than later.
