The actress will star in Quentin Tarantino's next movie.
Jennifer Jason Leigh will play the lead role of Daisy Domergue in Quentin Tarantino’s new film, The Hateful Eight, according to The Wrap. Daisy is described as a female prisoner who’s been convicted of murder and is scheduled to hang. She, a local sheriff and the two bounty hunters who have captured her are forced to wait out a storm along with four other men who may be hatching a plot to free Daisy.
Leigh joins Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Tim Roth and others in the Western, which is set in Wyoming during the Civil War. The actress attended a table reading of the script that Tarantino held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) back in April, although the role of Daisy was read that night by Amber Tamblyn.
As you can imagine, the part was a hot one for Hollywood actresses, with Hilary Swank, Robin Wright, Demi Moore and Michelle Williams all in contention for it at one point or another. Filming is scheduled to begin on December 8, with a 2015 release planned.
