Chris Miller and Phil Lord back to write The LEGO Movie 2

Looking for Hollywood's most in-demand comedy directors right now? Then hunt no further than Chris Miller and Phil Lord. Even before this year, they'd steered both Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs and 21 Jump Street to box office gold.

This year? They trumped all of that, with a pair of big hit movies. The LEGO Movie for one, and then 22 Jump Street. No wonder they're being linked with pretty much everything that has a joke in it somewhere.

Originally, they were going to oversee, but not direct,The LEGO Movie 2, with Chris McKay taking on helming duties. But then Warner Bros shuffled the pack. It movedThe LEGO Batman Movie (for it is a thing) ahead of The LEGO Movie 2, and McKay has now shifted his attention to that.

For The LEGO Movie 2, it's now been revealed that Warner Bros has lured the pair back to pen the screenplay for the film. It's unclear as of yet if they'll be directing as well, but hopefully they can pick up from the ending of The LEGO Movie with their new script. We liked that ending.

The LEGO Batman Movie is set to land in May 2017, and The LEGO Movie 2 is expected the year after. Here's Warner Bros' current LEGO schedule.
