There's a new Pee-wee Herman movie in development, an announcement is coming, and the secret word is "you will see it."
And suddenly, Paul Reubens is everywhere again. He's been popping up on The Blacklist. Pee-wee's Playhousefinally got itself a Blu-ray release. And now there's a new Pee-wee Herman project in the works.
It's true. He confirmed it himself.
Speaking to Rolling Stone,Mr. Herman Mr. Reubens said that we should hear something "any minute now." He elaborated a little. But only a little.
"I’m thinking there will be something made public very soon. It’s going to get made shortly after the new year. I wish I could tell you about it right now, because…I mean, it’s amazing. It’s going to be amazing."
How could it not be, right?
UPDATED: Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Mr. Reubens let slip that Judd Apatow will produce the new film. He's still not talking about who the director is, but promises that an announcement is only a week away.
Good lord, what if he's working with Tim Burton again?
