The X-Men spinoff starring Channing Tatum as Gambit has found its screenwriter.
This may seem much smaller when you compare it to the ridiculous scale of the announcements from Warner Bros. and Marvel Studios earlier in the month, but the 20th Century Fox Gambit movie, spinning off from the X-Men movie franchise, now has a writer. Robocop reboot writer Josh Zetumer is writing the screenplay, and Gambit star Channing Tatum will also produce.
What's also interesting is that Zetumer is writing the screenplay based on a treatment by Chris Claremont, the most prolific X-Men writer of them all, and the man who has had plenty of his stories and concepts mined for the X-Men movies already. No word yet on when we'll see Gambit, but there's still a chance he'll pop in for X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016. More as we get it...
