An upcoming documentary will show what certain Santas are up to outside of the Christmas season. Meanwhile, Mick Foley wants in on it.
If you know anything about hardcore wrestling legend Mick Foley, you probably know that the dude loves Christmas. Absolutely loves it. He has a study in his house that is all about Christmas 24/7. He’s written children’s books about the holiday. He visits Santa’s Village on an annual basis religiously. In recent years, he’s played the role of Santa on WWE TV, including the time Alberto Del Rio accidentally ran him over.
Now he’s starring in I Am Santa Claus, a documentary that shows what mall Santas are up to when they aren’t listening to anxious children in December. Foley will find out if he can actually pull off portraying Jolly Saint Nick without it being blatant that it’s just Cactus Jack in a red suit. The Kickstarter-created film is also about the otherwise unemployed Russell Spice, real estate agent Bob Geradi, BBQ enthusiast Frank Pascuzzi, and proud homosexual Jim Stevenson. Together, these Santas give you an answer to the question, “Whose lap is your child sitting on?”
I dig that the trailer features a track off of Twisted Sister’s Christmas album Twisted Christmas. Dee Snyder and Mick Foley are actually really close friends. It all comes together.
A few months ago, I got to see Mick Foley do some stand-up and he brought Santa Frank Pascuzzi up on stage. The man has legitimately changed his name to Santa Claus. That’s dedication.
I Am Santa Claus will be shown in select theaters on November 4th. The documentary will then be released on disc and digitally on November 11h. It’s directed by Tommy Avallone.
Have a nice holiday!
