Two characters from the Marvel cinematic universe have been confirmed as appearing in Joss Whedon's The Avengers 2...
And we thought we knew the full cast for next summer's Avengers: Age Of Ultron. The Joss Whedon-directed sequel, which may just be the biggest Marvel movie to date, will feature the likes of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Samuel L Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, James Spader and Jeremy Renner. But two more faces from the Marvel cinematic universe will be popping up as well.
We're going to call in Daphne the spoiler squirrel, to prevent those from not wanting to know the identity of said faces from doing so. Scroll past Daphne and her nuts, and you're on your own...
Still here?
Right then. Idris Elba, in an interview with The Telegraph, has revealed that "I'm in Avengers." Which is fairly conclusive. We think we can throw away the word 'rumour' on this one.
He added that "I'd doing a scene with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston". You can further take it from that that Heimdall and Loki will both be appearing in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, alongside Thor. Something we've discussed in considering Thor: Ragnarok, here.
The interview itself is worth a read. In it, Elba talks about how he went from playing Nelson Mandela, to arriving back in England and having to jump straight into reshoots on Thor: The Dark World. "I was like, this is torture man, I don't want to do this", he recalled.
Avengers: Age Of Ultron arrives in cinemas next April in the UK, and in May in the US. More on the film as we hear it...
