Doctor Doom in Josh Trank's new Fantastic Four film will be a little different than you may expect...
Fox's reboot of the Fantastic Four movies, which is being helmed by Chronicledirector Josh Trank, arrives in cinemas next August, with a cast that includes Kate Mara, Michael B Jordan, Jamie Bell, Ben Grimm and Miles Teller.
And then there's Toby Kebbell, who was part of a big hit Fox movie this year with Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. He's signed up to play Doctor Doom in the new Fantastic Four film, and he's given an interview to Colliderwhere he's revealed a key deviation that the film will be taking from the original source material.
Talking about the new origins of Doctor Doom, Kebbell said that "he’s Victor Domashev, not Victor Von Doom in our story. And I’m sure I’ll be sent to jail for telling you that". He added that "I’m a programmer. Very anti-social programmer. And on blogging sites I’m 'Doom.'"
There is no prize for posting a comment under the name 'Doom' below this article.
He teased a slightly different voice for Doctor Doom, with Kebbell revealing that whilst his Doom will be American, he's adding a foreign element to it. Furthermore, he specifically praised director Josh Trank, and "the lo-fi way he did it, the ultra-real."
Fantastic Four arrives in cinemas on August 7th, 2015. A sequel is already scheduled for 2017, too.
