It looks like you can add The Running Man to the list of sequels and reboots that Arnold Schwarzenegger is considering...
With his new standalone projects, such as Sabotage,The Last Stand, and Escape Plan, failing to ignite at the box office, it comes as little surprise that Arnold Schwarzenegger is putting his faith more and more in sequels. He's wrapped now on next summer's Terminator: Genisys, and is expected to appear in the two Terminatorfilms following that one. Then there's the small matter of the Twinssequel, Triplets, and his return to the role of Conan.
And you can potentially add another project to the mix: The Running Man 2.
Schwarzenegger was on stage at a Q&A event in London over the weekend, and he told the crowd "there's rumblings of a new Running Man movie, so it's a great honour to be asked back."
He dropped no further information on the new The Running Man film, but before the weekend, we didn't even know it was on the cards. He'd hinted at it before, but there had been no further word. We shall try to find out more. We'd expect it to be a reboot rather than a sequel if it happens, and for neither Stephen King (on whose book the original film was based, writing as Richard Bachman) or original director Paul Michael Glaser (Arnie was critical of his work on the movie in his autobiography) to return.
