Watch the latest trailer for the ghosts of Eel Marsh with The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death.
Ghost stories are fun, especially if they feature dark houses on dark marshes in dark corners of the world. Maybe that is why the Susan Hill original story The Woman in Black has persisted so long. The basis of a successful BBC production, as well as a continuous haunted ghost story on the London stage, it also spawned 2012’s deliciously creepy haunted house spook fest: The Woman in Black.
While that film, which starred Daniel Radcliffe as an English solicitor who went where no family man should ever venture, was a Victorian drama, the sequel has moved up the timetable. Known as The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death, the haunted house sequel looks to continue Jennet Humfrye’s mayhem into the 20th century just in time for the Second World War. And for audiences, it will also be out in time for a new year, as Relativity Media has slated it for a January 2, 2015 release date.
Directed by Tom Harper and starring Jeremy Irvine, The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death returns to Eel Marsh House for another generation of terror when orphans from London during World War II get the worst relocation imaginable. They are sent to live in the house that eats children; undoubtedly bad mojo will ensue.
Relativity purchased the distribution rights for the franchise from Hammer Studios and Entertainment One, which released the previous installment.
