Chris Pratt is set to star in the Image Comics adaptation of Cowboy Ninja Viking. We'd be Star-Lord would approve...
Quick question: if we told you there was something out there called Cowboy Ninja Viking, how many guesses would it take for you to figure out that it was a comic book? We would agree if your answer is less than one.
However, did you know that it is also now going to be a movie…starring Christ Pratt?!
Proving that doing comic book films with talking raccoons isn’t enough for him, it was confirmed by Collider Thursday that Mr. Pratt is going to be playing the lead role in the movie Cowboy Ninja Viking.
Adapted from the Image Comics title by A.J. Lieberman and Riley Rossmo, Cowboy Ninja Viking is about a super secret assassin with Multiple Personality Disorder, giving him the skills of a (you guessed it) cowboy, a ninja, and a Viking. He then uses them for a government program to take out baddies. The baddies being of course the government program’s secret leader, a bad billionaire of malicious resources (when are they not?) who turned Duncan (Pratt) into codename: Triplets. Now, Triplets is out to have his revenge.
The film currently has no director or writer attached, however it was previously a Disney project with Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (Zombieland ) attached. It then moved to Universal where World War Z’s Marc Forster initially considered directing it. We imagine that Pratt’s clout post-Guardians of the Galaxy, The Lego Movie, and Jurassic World will make it much easier to get talent to stick around.
Pratt has since confirmed his involvement with the below tweet.
