Josh Brolin has been chatting about his role in Avengers: Infinity War, and what got him to sign up in the first place.
Josh Brolin's next big screen role is in Paul Thomas Anderson's upcoming Oscar hopeful, Inherent Vice. That hits limited release this week, and it's while he's been on the promotional tour for it that he's been chatting about his upcoming role in the Marvel cinematic universe.
Brolin is set to play Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, and he told Coming Soonthat "I love the idea of Thanos," adding that "ultimately, it's Thanos against everyone. Why wouldn't you do that?"
So why did he take the role on in the first place? That'd be because of a man called Louis D'Esposito, the co-president of Marvel Studios, who happens to be an old friend of Brolin's. "He called me up and started talking about this thing. It was nice because I could intimately talk to him about it. What I liked. What I didn’t like about the whole idea of it… It was really exciting because of the possibilities that it could be come. Not as an idea or as a blockbuster, but just as something different. It’s a character mentality."
We still don't know for certain in which film we'll see Thanos again, but the betting is on Guardians Of The Galaxy 2. Avengers: Infinity War Part One is in cinemas in May 2018.
