It appears that we’re about to go back…to the future…in a hot tub?!
Just in time for the 30th anniversary of Back to the Future (and the opening destination for Back to the Future Part II) comes Hot Tub Time Machine 2. Yes, I doubt that you were clamoring for this sequel, but at least they are following in the footsteps of previous time travel comedies by going to the future and then back to the past. And then to the very past. At least the American Revolution joke ensures one good chuckle in this movie (or trailer).
The heroes from the previous Hot Tub Time Machine, sans John Cusack, have grown bored at how awesome their future has been since 2010 when they rewrote technology, the Internet, and all other historical goodies to their benefit. Granted, only one of them actually stayed in the past of the original Hot Tub Time Machine to alter their destiny, but is this really a flick where you are going to quibble about continuity?
However, once the boys jump to 2025, they accidentally learn of their horrible futures—unless they go back in time to change it again. You get the idea. Oh and there are plenty of dick jokes.
Hot Tub Time Machine 2 stars Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke, plus promises cameos by Adam Scott, Gillian Jacobs, Chevy Chase, and more. Directed by a returning Steve Pink, it opens on February 20, 2015.
