Mark Wahlberg is on board for Transformers 5, and says "something tells me we'll be on the set soon".
The biggest box office hit of the year on planet Earth has been Michael Bay's Transformers: Age Of Extinction. The widely-maligned Transformers 4 may have seen its US takings fall after the previous film, but the fact that it was such a huge hit in China helped power it to a $1.087bn gross. Second place Guardians Of The Galaxysits a long way behind on $772m worldwide.
While on the promotional trail for his new film, The Gambler, Mark Wahlberg was asked if his appearance in Transformers: Age Of Extinction was to be his only one. Or would he be returning for Transformers 5?
"Yeah, I committed to doing a couple more," he confirmed to MTV. As for when? "I can't speak for Mr Bay, but something tells me we'll be on the set soon."
It's not been confirmed yet if Michael Bay will return to direct a fifth Transformersfilm, yet it is known that Paramount is trying to schedule one for 2016. That said, if Michael Bay wants to do it, the studio is likely to allow him to take as long as he wants to do so.
