NewsThere are so many Batman characters coming to the big screen in 2016 (and over multiple movies to boot) that it can be as dizzying as a trip to Arkham. Yet, one that stands as the most potentially intriguing is Margot Robbie’s turn as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad. Easily one of the Batman’s most entertaining foes, Harley has not been seen on the big screen before now, and thus Robbie has a lot of leeway in how to interpret the character. For example, what is her voice exactly going to sound like?
Apparently, there might be the faintest hint of “the Duchess of Bay Ridge” in it (Robbie’s role in 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street), judging by her latest interview with SuperheroHype.
Robbie said, “None of those things have been set in stone at this point, but according to the comics, she’s from New York, and I think Brooklyn, so there me be a slight…I couldn’t imagine it would be as strong as The Wolf of Wall Street accent. The lingo will be different between that and the other character I played in Wolf, but I don’t know yet. We haven’t spoken about it.”
Indeed. If she’s too much like her Wolf character, Mr. J won’t ever be able to pay attention to his Batman obsession for very long…
