The first story details of Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales have also been released...
NewsIt's taken some time to get to this stage, and we sincerely hope that said time has been used to put a strong script in place, but Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 has finally begun filming. Entitled Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the new movie is shooting in Australia, and will see Johnny Depp reprise the role of Captain Jack Sparrow again (a part for which he was once Oscar-nominated, of course).
Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg are directing this time, whilst Jeff Nathanson has penned the screenplay. And the latest addition to the cast is Golshifteh Farahani, last seen in Exodus: Gods And Kings. She joins an ensemble that's also confirmed to include Javier Bardem, Geoffrey Rush, Kevin R McNally, Stephen Graham, The Maze Runner's Kaya Scodelario, and Brenton Thwaites.
Furthermore, Disney has released an official synopsis for the movie, which gives us our first hints as to what the new Pirates Of The Caribbeanis going to be about.
Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.
Make of that what you will. Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Talesarrives in cinemas in July 2017.
