Scarlett Johansson is to headline the movie take on Jon Ronson's The Psychopath Test...
NewsNow we're sure that author Jon Ronson will correct us on this if we've got this wrong, but there's an incident that he describes at the start of his excellent book, The Psychopath Test. He talks about a threat being made to an unnamed website, as a consequence of an interview that was run with Ronson himself.
Er, we think that was us. Let's just say that we certainly had a few (friendly) phone calls about it. If you've read the book, you'll know which bit we're referring to. Again, it may be another website that we don't know of, but reading Ronson's words brough back some memories.
If you've not read the book, then you may be tempted to go for a film version of The Psychopath Test instead. Universal Pictures is backing the movie take on the book, and Austin Powers director Jay Roach is on board to call the shots.
Furthermore, it's also now been reported that Scarlett Johansson is set to take the lead in the film. The book is going to take some tuning to reach the big screen, of course. It charts Ronson's adventures with psychopaths, people touched by madness, and the people who deal with it. And then it centres on the 'psychopath test' itself, and the skill of spotting a psychopath that comes with that.
No release date has thus far been announced for The Psychopath Test, although presumably Jay Roach will move onto the project once he's done and dusted with Trumbo, which stars Bryan Cranston and is due later this year.
