Drafthouse releases trailer for French crime thriller The Connection. It's an international perspective on the William Friedkin classic.

The new take on the old million dollar junk score is being told from the other side of the Atlantic. Drafthouse Films released the trailer for La Française, the period crime movie The Connection. It tells the story about the judge who fought the international drug cartel “The French Connection” at its source.
The new film stars Jean Dujardin, who won an Academy Award for The Artist. Dujardin plays real-life Marseilles magistrate Pierre Michel. It also stars Gilles Lellouche as drug kingpin Gatean “Tany” Zampa. Céline Sallette (Rust And Bone), Mélanie Doutey (The Players), and Benoît Magimel (Little White Lies) also star.
The movie is being promoted as a kind of “flip side” to The French Connection, the 1971 classic crime drama directed by William Friedkin and starring Gene Hackman and Roy Scheider.
Set in Marseilles in the early 1970s, The Connectionis about a task force of elite cops are trying to take Zampa down and dismantle the largest underground international heroin smuggling operation in history up to that time.
The film is being distributed by Gaumont in France.
