Check out the trailer for Hollywood's latest bout of demonic possession and Antichrist whispering: The Vatican Tapes.
TrailerForget about Jared Leto's 17-part transformation into The Joker and feast your eyes on the trailer for Lionsgate's The Vatican Tapes, an upcoming horror film that focuses on the rise of the ultimate super-villain: the Antichrist.
Starring Djimon Hounsou and Michael Pena as “warriors of God” who have been led to the door of a teenage girl (Olivia Taylor Dudley), they discover that she has been possessed by demonic forces. The Vatican Tapes doesn't look like it’s for the weak of stomach with her shoulder popping out of place and the deviled egg thing. But it also doesn't look like something that we haven't seen before either. Cinematic possession is well charted territory, but every so often we need to be reminded that these kinds of deeply ingrained horrors can make for worthwhile entertainment. The question is: has it been long enough for this to feel fresh and can this specific depiction of those horrors pass for entertainment? We'll find out on May 22, 2015 when The Vatican Tapes arrives in theaters.
