Danny Trejo has been cast in From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series where he will play a force for evil in the vampire drama.
NewsNot content with only being one of the nastiest vampires in Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s cult favorite, From Dusk Till Dawn, Danny Trejo is ready to sink his teeth into the El Rey Network series as well.
Trejo and Rodriguez go back a long way to before From Dusk Till Dawn. Trejo had a start to his career (and legend) by training Eric Roberts to box for the film Runaway Train, which led to him having a bit part in the film. Since then his career became infamous when Rodriguez first cast Trejo in Desperado, a sequel to El Mariachi where Trejo played a silent but vastly intimidating hitman who had a taste for knives. Since then, he has appeared in countless films, as well as in Rodriguez’s From Dusk Till Dawn, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Planet Terror, the Spy Kids franchise, and most recently the Machete films.
Trejo played a bartending vampire in the From Dusk Till Dawn film, but will portray the Regulator on From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, an “agent of evil” that has been summoned to wreck havoc on the surviving heroes from the first season.
Briana Evigan of Step Up 2 the Streets and Sorority Row is also joining the series as Sonja, an American living in Mexico as a tattoo artist and a documents forger. She too will be roped into a world of vampires and evil.
The second season is currently in production in Austin.
