Peter Dinklage and Nicola Peltz are joining Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike in the new James Mangold thriller, The Deep Bllue Goodbye.

News

The usual suspects of the new Christian Bale mystery film are starting to be rounded up, and they are making for quite the line-up, indeed.

It was announced Friday afternoon that Peter Dinklage, Tyrion Lannister on the HBO juggernaut Game of Thrones, and Nicola Peltz of Transformers: Age of Extinction are joining the cast of The Deep Blue Goodbye, a new mystery thriller starring Christian Bale and Gone Girl’s Rosamund Pike.

The film, which is being directed by James Mangold (The Wolverine, Walk the Line) is an adaptation of John D. Macdonald’s novel The Deep Blue Good-by. It is part a series of novels starring Travis McGee, a self-described beach bum and gambler who will “consult” on dives or salvages only when his money runs out—and only if he can keep half of whatever it is he finds for you.

In the movie, McGee is being reimagined as an Afghan war veteran for the modern world. Dinklage will play a mathematician who invented an app that has made him rich—and inadvertently McGee’s sidekick.

Peltz meanwhile is playing the young woman who gets in over her head when she hires McGee to help her find a mysterious handful of sapphires that lead to a sadistic torturer.

This is Bale and Mangold’s second film together after 2007’s 3:10 to Yuma. The movie is eying to begin production later this month in Florida and Puerto Rico.
