Check out the newest trailer for Terminator: Genisys, which features Emilia Clarke, J.K. Simmons, and of course Arnold Schwarzenegger.
NewsAlmost inevitably, Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator is back. But this time in the new trailer, he seems to be taking a backseat to some of his co-stars.
In the latest trailer/extended TV spot for Terminator: Genisys, fans will get more of a look at Emilia Clarke as the new Sarah Connor. And she is sharing the framing device of the promotional video with J.K. Simmons, who just so happens to have won a much-deserved Oscar earlier this year for Whiplash. He appears to be playing more doubting Thomas than band leading drill sergeant here, but it is still enough to put him on a collision course with Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) and of course, the Terminator (Schwarzenegger).
Terminator: Genisys continues the story of John Connor, Sarah Connor, and a handful of cybernetic killing machines by rewriting the rules of the first film. Since both sides have now sent good and bad terminators back to events prior the original 1984 film, when Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) arrives to save Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) in a rewritten timeline, she’s already a hardened badass who has been raised by a good T-800 (Schwarzenegger). Together, they attempt to rewrite the time travel rules (again), so as to prevent Judgment Day. Again.
The film also stars Jason Clarke as futuristic John Connor and Doctor Who’s Matt Smith in a mystery role. Terminator: Genisys, which is directed by Alan Taylor, opens on July 1, 2015.
