What have we done to deserve this? The Transformers movies aren't just getting more sequels...they're getting spinoffs.
NewsThe Transformersmovies make an awful lot of money. We all howl about how dreadful they are while they're in theaters every other summer or so, and then by Halloween they're forgotten. But their memory lingers on in the form of staggeringly large worldwide box-office grosses, so more of them are inevitable.
We just didn't expect there to be this many more of them.
Paramount, anxious to get into the all-important "shared universe" game (don't forget, Disney has TWO of those!), have hired Akiva Goldsman (you know, the guy who wrote Batman and Robin) to work with Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg, and Lorenzo di Bonaventura to organize a "writer's room" to figure out a series of Transformersspinoffs to along with the inevitable parade of sequels. A "writer's room." You know, like they have for TV shows.
All that being said, I reserve the right to be kinda excited about a Transformers meets GI Joe movie if they ever went down that road.
And you know they will.
