Transporter: Refueled, a reboot of the former Jason Statham franchise, is moving off its June release date and speeding to September.
NewsYou have to give credit to Frank Martin. He’s so fast at transporting items, that he was able to move his latest film/reboot, Transporter: Refueled, from June all the way to September.
Despite releasing its first trailer just two weeks ago, which features Ed Skrein reimagining the fast-driving role that Jason Statham originated, Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp. has made the prudent move to transport Refueled from its original June 19 release date to September 4, 2015.
In The Transporter: Refueled, Frank is hired by a cunning femme fatale named Anna (Loan Chabanol) and her three sidekicks for a deceptively simple job until he discovers that he has been played in a scheme that has resulted in his father (Ray Stevenson) being kidnapped. With new blackmailers embroiling Frank into a world of Russian sex trafficking, Frank will be fueled by revenge as he seeks to rescue his father and break the chain of underworld command.
Since this is what Skrein left Game of Thrones for after only half-a-season, I hope for his sake that it is fiery fun. Because at the moment, I imagine some of Den of Geekeditors are simply wistfully yearning for the days of Jason Statham behind the wheel…
