Both Julie Delpy and Linda Cardellini are in Joss Whedon's Avengers sequel - and that's uncorked a fresh bottle of rumours...
NewsDisney has let the cat out of the bag on two surprise members of the Avengers: Age Of Ultron cast roster - thanks to a premiere announcement.
The studio is planning the premiere of the new Avengers film in the US on Monday April 13th. And listing the cast for the new film, it specifically includes Linda Cardellini and Julie Delpy. Neither had been previously announced, and Disney has subsequently confirmed that the list was not a misprint. They're definitely in the movie.
So: who are the pair playing?
More than likely fairly small roles at this stage. Speculation has already been rife that one of them may have been cast as Captain Marvel, and thus be making an introductory appearance near the end of the movie. We'd genuinely be staggered if that were the case, simply because it'd seem impossible to keep something like that under the radar.
Instead, we're expecting the pair to both have cameos in this movie, and it's unlikely to be much more than that. Very happy to be surprised there, though. Both are firm favourites here.
Delpy, after all, is one of the stars of the Beforetrilogy of movies from Richard Linklater. And then Cardellini was the star of the peerless Freak & Geeks, and also has Mad Men under her belt. Cardellini is on the left here, Delpy on the right...
