New Trailer for Poltergeist Remake

With all the talk recently about impending reboots and reimaginings of 1980s classics, it’s surprising few have not taken notice that another ‘80s childhood touchstone is making its way to the big screen in only a few months. Yep, “They’re here.” And by they, I mean the Poltergeist remake.

As seen in the below second trailer, 20^th Century Fox, producer Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Spider-Man), and director Gil Kenan (Monster House) are revisiting their 1982 hit film, but at least some things have changed in the past 30 years. If you thought that it was bad when the ghosts came out of the TV, just wait until you see what they can do in the age of social media and smartphones. Raimi and Kenan certainly could be on the right track with the digital upgrade as well as with its impressive cast that includes Sam Rockwell (Moon, Snow Angels), Rosemarie DeWitt (Rachel Getting Married, Mad Men), Jared Harris (Mad Men), Saxon Sharbino, Jane Adams, and Kennedi Clements as Madison (Carol Anne for the iPad generation).

The Poltergeist haunting begins on May 22, 2015 in 3D.
