Seann William Scott and Jay Baruchel are back for Goon 2 - which finally goes before the cameras this year...
NewsThe 2011 ice hockey comedy Goon was, by distance, one of the most violent films of that year. It was also really rather good. Starring Seann William Scott and Jay Baruchel, the plan for some time had been to make a sequel to the movie. And finally, that sequel is happening.
Seann William Scott confirmed the news on Reddit, where he's just done one of its AMA whatsits. He wrote that "I did a bit of fight training for GOON. For GOON 2, I’ve been fight-training for the past month, and next month in May I start working with an MMA fighter, and then some skating (obviously, a lot of skating). We start shooting GOON 2 in mid-June, and if everybody does their jobs and we execute the amazing script that Jay [Baruchel] and his co-writer wrote, the fucking movie would be wicked."
Michael Dowse, the director of the original movie, is expected back for the sequel, although that's not been confirmed. But the sounds of it though, we may well be getting Goon 2 at some point towards the end of 2016...
