Kathleen Kennedy confirms that yes, Disney will eventually make a new Indiana Jones movie.
Some day, you will see a new Indiana Jones movie from Disney. It's inevitable. It's not a threat, it's a promise.
To nobody's surprise, Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy confirmed as much, saying that a new Indiana Jones movie “will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.”
There has also been some chatter about Chris Pratt putting on Indy's fedora, but then again, Chris Pratt is linked to everything these days. So yes, still no script, still no story, still no Steven Spielberg, and still no Indiana Jones 5.
I'd also expect Disney to neatly sidestep the bad publicity that calling it a reboot would entail. There are plenty of Indiana Jones adventures that could be told in the time between the movies we've already seen.
Anyway, it'll happen, because this is far too lucrative a franchise to not re-emerge at some point. But don't hold your breath.
