Captain America 3 "is going to be the setup for the real battle," says Chris Evans...
NewsWith Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age Of Ultron now playing pretty much everywhere around the world, already the Marvel wheels are turning on the next bunch of adventures. And next before the cameras - appreciating that Ant-Man is deep into post-production - is Captain America: Civil War.
Just by the title of the film alone it's clear that Captain America: Civil War is going to be a major film in the Marvel cinematic universe. It finishes up the Captain America trilogy, and sees Joe and Anthony Russo returning to direct following Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The pair will then move on to helm the two parts of Avengers: Infinity War.
So: is one film going to set up the others? According to Chris Evans, that's pretty much the case. "Captain America: Civil War is the jumpoff into Avengers: The Infinity War" he confirmed to MTV. "Civil War is going to be the setup for the real battle. So yeah, there are a lot of people - a lot of people - in Cap 3."
On top of Captain America, we're already expecting appearances from Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man (who's believed to have a sizeable role in the new film), Black Panther, Black Widow and Spider-Man at the very least. And maybe many more.
Captain America: Civil War arrives in May 2016.
