Martin Freeman has joined the cast of next year's Marvel Universe movie, Captain America: Civil War.
Martin Freeman (do we need to list the roles he's played? No, I don't think so) has joined the cast of Captain America: Civil War. Yes, we think this is good news. No, we don't know who he's playing.
"From his roles as Bilbo Baggins and Doctor Watson to Tim in The Office, Martin's range from the dramatic to the comedic has consistently impressed us," said Captain America: Civil War Producer Kevin Feige in a typically vague statement. "We couldn't be more honored or excited to have such a talented actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe."
All Mr. Freeman needs to do now is show up in a Star Wars movie and he'll get to call "bingo" or something.
Anyway, he's probably in politics. I'd say he could be Dr. Faustus, who plays a significant role of the Captain America comics of the era (although not Civil War, specifically), but that character seems to have already appeared on Agent Carter. Anyway, if we hear anything, you'll know about it.
Captain America: Civil War opens on May 6th, 2016. It stars everybody you probably think it does. The Russo Brothers are directing. We wish them well.
