Paramount puts Beverly Hills Cop 4 back - and avoids a clash with Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice in the process...
NewsThe planned return to the big screen for Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley has hit a problem, as Paramount has reportedly removed Beverly Hills Cop 4 from its release schedule.
The film had been earmarked for release on March 25th 2016, with Murphy returning in the lead role, and Brett Ratner stepping in as director. However, with production not close to starting it seems, that March date was looking more and more of a long shot. Furthermore, given that Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is due out on the same day, it was always likely to be shifted anyway.
As things stand, the film remains in development, and is still likely to happen. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing, whilst Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum were working on the script.
For now, though, Beverly Hills Cop 4 is without a release date, and it's unclear even when it's going to start shooting right now. As we hear more, we'll let you know...
