Writing duo will help polish the action adventure film for Universal Pictures.
NewsIf Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz wished for more work, than may their wish be granted.
The duo, who penned rewrites for the franchise rejuvenating X-Men: First Class, have been hired to work their magic on Universal’s upcoming adventure film Arabian Knights. Kyle Ward, who wrote the upcoming Hitman reboot, Hitman: Agent 47, originally scripted and sold the film to Universal Pictures.
Details on the film’s plot are currently unavailable, but rumor has it that the film will dive into the legends of Sinbad the Sailor, Aladdin, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, and other tales from One Thousand and One Nights, the collection of Arabic folk tales that has inspired countless Hollywood properties.
Word has it that Universal is hoping that Arabian Knights will be an action adventure film tonally similar to Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean series. Miller and Stentz are familiar with comedic action properties, having wrote Thor for Marvel and having spent time writing for Fox’s Fringe.
Next up, the writing duo will tackle the big-screen Power Rangers reboot and Top Gun 2 for producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
