
Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman stumbles onto Transformers
NewsParamount announced that Robert Kirkman and Zak Penn are joining the Transformerswriting team.
The Transformers film series is going to expand with interconnected spin-offs and direct sequels. Producers Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg and Lorenzo di Bonaventura recently tasked producer/screenwriter Akiva Goldsman from Da Vinci Code, I Am Legend and I, Robot, with setting up “brain trust” for story ideas. He came up with The Walking Dead’s creator Robert Kirkman; Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who wrote Iron Man; Jeff Pinkner, who wrote Lostand Zak Penn, the writer of X-Men: The Last Stand and The Incredible Hulk.
Paramount released Transformers: Age of Extinction, the franchise’s fourth film, last year. It starred Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor. Wahlberg has said that he signed on for “a couple more.”
There is word that Michael Bay may direct Transformers 5after he wraps 13 Hours, a drama about the 2012 terrorist attack on the US State Department Special Mission Compound in Benghazi, Libya based on the 2012 account by Mitchell Zuckoff.
