Finally, one of the greatest giant robot fighting giant robot movies ever made, Stuart Gordon's Robot Jox, gets the deluxe treatment.
NewsShout Factory is 2/2 on "recent announcements that Mike really loves" this month. First we got word that one of the best werewolf movies of all time, Dog Soldiers, has a loaded Blu-ray on the way. And now it's Stuart Gordon's Robot Jox getting a new release.
Look, Pacific Rim 2 is a long way off. Robot Jox is like the low budget version of Pacific Rim, minus the kaiju, plus Stuart Gordon. It was a staple of my late night b-movie diet, and it's well worth your time. War has been outlawed, so nations have to settle things in the ring...with people who pilot giant robot suits. I don't really need to sell this to you, do I?
Here are the special features that have been announced so far. There will be more, apparently.
- Audio Commentary With Director Stuart Gordon
- Audio Commentary With Associate Effects Director Paul Gentry, Mechanical Effects Artist Mark Rappaport, And Stop-Motion Animator Paul Jessel
- Brand-New Interview With Actor Paul Koslo
- Archival Interviews With Director Stuart Gordon, Pyrotechnic Supervisor Joe Viskocil, Associate Effects Director Paul Gentry, Stop-Motion Animator Paul Jessel and Animation & Effects Artists Chris Endicott And Mark McGee
