If you live long enough, even the live-action reboots of beloved animated properties will have reboots. Hence, Inspector Gadget.
NewsInspector Gadget is back. Well, he's back on Netflix in a new animated series that I haven't quite been able to bring myself to watch yet. But he's also coming back to the big screen in live-action.
Yes, that's right: there's a new Inspector Gadgetmovie coming.
Now, let's forget for a moment the Matthew Broderick Inspector Gadget live-action movie from 1999. In fact, let's forget it forever. Although, it's too bad, because Broderick wasn't really bad casting for that one, but that's another story.
Anyway, we hear that Dan Lin (who was one of the producers of The Lego Movie) is getting set to create another live-action Inspector Gadget movie, probably figuring that nearly twenty years is more than enough time to forget about the other one. He's probably correct.
I do hope they get it right this time. And I especially hope they cast an appropriately brilliant canine as Brain. Make him the star.
And we had better not see Doctor Claw's face.
