The Statham sounds like he's on board for the next Fast & Furious film. Plus, plans are ongoing to get Crank 3 made...
NewsSo, yesterday, we might just have been in the same room as the mighty Statham himself, and had the chance to question him about one or two of his upcoming projects. He was in town to talk about Paul Feig's incoming comedy Spy, and we'll have the full interview for you next week. But here's what he told us about two upcoming sequels, Crank 3 and Fast & Furious 8.
There's still not much in the way of obvious progress on Crank 3 though, sadly. However, The Statham told us that "Crank 3 is something I've always wanted to do." Promisingly, he added that "The directors want to do it, we're trying to figure things out."
Far more definite is his involvement in Fast & Furious 8. His future filming schedule is set to revolve around when Universal want to get cracking on that. "There's Fast 8, they want to do another one," he confirmed. In terms of trying to schedule another movie he's got planned, he told us that "to me, it depends what Universal are doing and when they want to go."
We were left in little doubt that he was returning for Fast 8, and that he's keen to return. The film is scheduled for summer 2017.
More on Crank 3 and Fast & Furious 8 in due course. Spy, meanwhile, is in cinemas on June 5th.
