NewsDirector David Yates returns to the world of Harry Potter later this year as he begins production on spinoff series Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. Set around 70 years before the antics of Harry Potter and his chums, the film will be the first in a new trilogy, that's being directly penned for the screen by J.K. Rowling.
Eddie Redmayne is believed to be in pole position for the pivotal role of Newt Scamander. But across The Wrap and Variety, it's being reported that the shortlist for other roles in the movie is in.
So, for the part of Tina, the names on that list are reportedly Saoirse Ronan, Dakota Fanning, Lili Simmons (True Detective) and Alison Sudol (Transparent). Here are the quartet, clumsily put together by someone fumbling with a low rent photo package...
Next? For the part of Tina's older sister, Queenie, the names currently in contention are Kate Upton (The Other Woman), Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice) and Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby).
And then there's the role of Jacob, positioned as the rival to Newt Scamander in the film. Three actors are reportedly on the list for that one, and they are Steve Zissis (Her), Zack Pearlman (The Virginity Hit) and Dan Fogler (Fanboys).
Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is due for release in November 2016.
