Bond fans can breathe a little easier today knowing that Sam Mendes, the man who directed Skyfall, the first Bond film to bring in over a billion dollars, will return to direct the next (as yet untitled) James Bond film. Not only is Mendes returning for the new film, so is screenwriter John Logan, and (of course), Daniel Craig as 007.
Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli had this to say, "Following the success of Skyfall, we're really excited to be working with Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes, and John Logan."
As for Sam Mendes, he issued this statement: "I am very pleased that by giving me the time I need to honour all my theatre commitments, the producers have made it possible for me to direct Bond 24. I very much look forward to taking up the reins again, and to working with Daniel Craig, Michael G. Wilson, and Barbara Broccoli for a second time."
This is all very good news for Bond fans, but the big question remains...how the heck are the going to top that theme tune from Skyfall?
Bond 24 will be released in the UK on October 23, 2015 and in the US on November 6, 2015.
