Kung Fu Panda 3 is set for release early next year, and a Chinese trailer gives us our first taste of the movie...

Kung Fu Panda 3 now has a new release slot in January in the US, although its release date in the UK remains March 18th 2016 thus far. DreamWorks Animation has been gradually releasing new imagery from the movie over the past week or two, and now the first footage has appeared, courtesy of a Chinese promo for the film. Here's a taster as to what's in store...

DreamWorks Animation's schedule has been a little bit erratic over the past year or two, as the firm has switched dates, delayed films, and in at least one case - Me & My Shadow - dropped a film from its announced line-up altogether.
The studio had planned a couple of years' back to release up to three films a year, but since it revealed that, 2014 is the only year it's done so. Even then, it involved a switcheroo between Home and The Penguins Of Madagascar.
It's 2015 slate originally had three films on it. Homeis the next one, having been moved to March 2015. But it also had B.O.O.: Bureau Of OtherwordlyOperations in there. That, however, has now been delayed, with no new release date given. And now one of the firm's sure-things, Kung Fu Panda 3, has been put back to 2016.
In the case of Kung Fu Panda 3, it's more a tactical decision. The film had originally been scheduled to open on December 23rd 2015 in the US. However, that'd be five days after Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and not unwisely, DreamWorks has opted to move its film. You can now expect Kung Fu Panda 3 on March 18th 2016. The only other confirmed 2016 from DreamWorks thus far is Trolls. It did have How To Train Your Dragon 3earmarked for 2016 as well, but it put the film back a year a few months' back.
