Lori Petty: new Point Break "dumbest thing I've ever heard"

There's not a huge groundswell of support in place so far for the remake of Point Break that's being released into cinemas this December. The unveiling of the first trailer for the film didn't really help in that regard either.

Now? One of the cast of the original film, Lori Petty, has added her voice to those of the dissenters. Petty played Tyler in the original movie, and she said to The Hollywood Reporter of the remake that "I think it's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."

"Really? Patrick Swayze, Keanu Reeves, Kathyrn Bigelow - what are you gonna do? What are you thinking? Stupid!"

Luke Bracey and Edgar Ramirez headline the new movie, for director Ericson Core. Petty, for one, hasn't even watched the trailer for it. "It's the most beautiful movie when you look at it. [Bigelow] is a painter, so every frame is beautiful. No, I can't do it," she said, when asked if she was going to watch the promo.

She admits that not everyone is pleased with her coming out against the film. "I got a phone call from my manager: 'why did you dis the new Point Break?' Because that's bullshit. That's some stupid shit right there!"

More on Point Break closer to its release. Does anyone out there have any hope that it's going to be a good film, out of interest?
