Frankenstein is on the loose. The monster creation of Mary Shelly and Dr. Frankenstein is having a comeback this summer on the heels of the vampire and zombie revivals. One of two films puts the monster in a Nazi uniform as if he weren’t monstrous enough. Dark Sky Films released the full trailer for Richard Raaphorst’s Frankenstein’s Army. The WWII horror story, based on Mary Shelly’s classic novel Frankenstein, will open on July 26. Frankenstein’s Army was written by Chris W. Mitchell, Richard Raaphorst, Mary Shelley and Miguel Tejada-Flores and shot in Prague and Amsterdam. The film stars Karel Roden, Joshua Sasse, Robert Gwilym, Alexander Mercury, Luke Newberry and Hon Ping Tang.
It’s the last days of World War II and the Russian army is checking Dr. Victor Frankenstein’s lab and finds that the miserable, nasty bastages are recycling dead soldiers for use by sewing them together and putting knobs in their necks. How can you kill something that’s already dead?
